I am reposting this from last year, from my series of ‘food for thought’ monday motivation posts; it is just what I need to hear right now! It’s so important to build motivation with clarity when you need to make changes, which I am trying to do with my diet once again in order to lose weight and regain my ‘optimal health’ after letting everything slide, and having the baby (who is a total wonder-fest and lights up every day) and to be my best self for this SUMMER!!! ♥
I have this lovely old pocket hardback book called Springs of Indian Wisdom. It’s very simple and beautiful, with lovely calligraphy and illustrations inside. For this next series of Monday Motivations I’m going to share a different quote from it every week, and some of my thoughts. They’re nurturing and full of meaning and the wisdom of the ages, setting us thinking about life, what it means, how we cope, how we find the strength and motivation to carry on with our endeavours. It’s a treasure trove. I love pocket books that you can dip into and carry with you.
So often when we are trying to do something in life, whether it be making changes to the way we eat and cutting foods out, losing weight, working a job, building a career or business, or the decisions we make about who to be and what to say or do every second of every day, and the internal battles we fight, it is easy to lose hope at times. But I believe that every moment is full of meaning, is important, and that every action has a consequence. It may sound trite but every moment is a stepping stone to our future, our destiny, we cannot escape that motion. We must develop our self-control, clarity and intuition and gravitate towards the good. Have faith in ourselves. It is the most testing of circumstances from which we grow, and which bear the sweetest fruit in the end. Work has its own reward, as does rest, and it may not be obvious. We may feel trapped within ourselves, our minds, our own brand of crazy, but a kernal of truth may have planted a seed and be growing within, waiting for its time.
everything becomes fruit and ripens at its hour.
Travel the road with purpose, bravery and a kind, loving heart, and make the world, and your self, a better place in which to live ♥
