I love taking photos, as an artist, and living with disability, it gives me a wonderful freedom of expression and allows me to nurture, extend and explore my passion for the world and its interest and beauty. I especially get a kick out of taking photos of the organic vegetables that nurture me, I am so in love with them. Food photography is really exciting to me, I love the food I eat, its vibrancy, pattern and colour. I love to share its beauty with the world.
I have a hand disability, which, practically speaking, means that a lightweight point and shoot digital camera is my only option kit-wise. I embrace this restriction and work with it, and ADORE my little camera, my Panasonic Lumix DMC-SZ3.
Everywhere I see colours, shapes, textures, symbolism, poetry and light, that stimulate and thrill me. When taking photographs I am always happy (and on walks hold everyone up constantly!). Check out my Instagram, I just love weaving the wonderful patchwork quilt of images you get to create on there, it’s so rewarding and so much fun to share. I can put photos up that I love but that aren’t on my posts too, which is great!
I like to think out of the box and as an artist I think in an abstract way, seeing photo’s both as documents and as an abstract landscape of form and colour. I especially love capturing the microcosm, and the world that opens up with close-up and impulsive free-style photography. I so much look forward to my photography journey, as I gain experience on this adventure called life ♥
